The overwhelming success of "The Million Dollar Homepage" by British student Alex Tew led to hundreds of - ineffective - copycats. But now, a German business has come up with a new smart idea.

Instead of selling 1 million pixels, the website "www.you-cant-resist.com" offers one single pixel only. That single pixel is placed so prominently on the web page that hardly a visitor can resist clicking it. The click forwards the visitor to a secret web page. Visitors are bursting with curiosity to see what the pixel does. Almost all of them click!

The pixel has been online for just one day and has already generated hundreds of page views.

The pixel is auctioned on eBay from 1 Euro (equals $1.27). For a full week, the winner of the auction can configure where a click on the pixel forwards to. Evidently, this will be the website of the auction winner. Unlike the "Million Dollar Homepage", where a pixel had to compete against 999,999 other pixels, at www.you-cant-resist.com the winner gets guaranteed, exclusive clicks. He or she may even end up with thousands of visitors to his or her website – for an investment of just 1 Euro.
