Media ResourcesBig Autobiography Portal Advertises With Tiny Pixel
Berlin (Germany), August 21, 2008
At the beginning particularly small companies have advertised on the presumably world'st smallest banner ad. Now larger websites such as the autobiography portal annoknips.com discover this guerilla marketing idea, too.
Berlin, August 21, 2008. Since May 2006 a pixel attracts visitors to its website www.you-cant-resist.com. This tiny small dot is placed in a way that almost all visitors click on it. It's been clicked more than 32,000 times and could therefore be the world's presumably smallest but also most successful ad banner. The click rate is above 90%.
A click on the pixel leads to a website of an advertiser. The site changes weekly, because the pixel is auctioned on eBay. Everyone can bid for it, and with a little luck win the pixel for a few Dollars. Auction winners can not only set their domain on the pixel link, but also add it to the Hall of Fame to hold a link on www.you-cant-resist.com forever. Winners get a lot of advertising for little money.
At the beginning this was particularly interesting for small business, but meanwhile larger websites are also bidding, e.g. the autobiography website annoknips.com that recently won the pixel. annoknips.com is a multi-lingual portal where everyone can write his or her life story by adding important events and linking these with place and time. You can simply start with your own birth and ad additional events whenever you like. Your life story can be displayed in an interactive historama timeline. You can also filter, sort and print it. Using annoknips.com is free of charge.
